Closing the Achievement Gap (CTAG) was developed to support educators in their efforts to raise the achievement levels of all students. Key Elements of the CTAG Initiative
COACHING
Our professionals will help teachers hone their skills and provide coaches with the tools necessary to do classroom observations, and perform effective demonstration teaching and modeling. The CTAG Initiative also helps principals learn to do efficient, meaningful classroom walk-throughs that help reinforce classroom work.
PROGRAM EVALUATION
CTAG evaluations of a variety of programs ensure that practices within the school district match current research and best practices. Our experts will interview, observe, and collect data on student achievement to help you improve the quality of your programs. Working together, we will then examine the findings and create a results-oriented action plan for change.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Sopris West specializes in helping struggling students improve their achievement. Professional development is centered on proven research-based strategies. Topics include reading, mathematics, behavior management, assessment, curriculum development, leadership, and research-based summer school and after-school interventions.
The CTAG Initiative is at work today in schools across the country – in Title I programs, in Reading First schools, and in comprehensive efforts to shape schoolwide reform.
