We can help all your teachers become more effective and efficient, and help your district
build local capacity for continued growth. Coaches and area trainers who can provide
district support are key to this effort. All attendees will gain an understanding of
research-based instruction and how it applies in the classroom.
Professional Development Levels
- Long-Range Planning is the first step in the implementation process. A best-practice model that spans three years is the key to successful implementation.
- Implementation Training provides teachers with the research foundation that is the key to knowledge. Training extends far beyond teaching a lesson; it includes the “Why Do, How To” of implementation.
- Follow-Up Training and Site Visits, conducted by certified trainers, occur after teachers have taught the curriculum for a period of time. Teachers reconvene to discuss problem areas, pacing, differentiation of instruction, and general content questions. Site visits also may include model teaching.
- Administrators’ Training includes a demonstration lesson, an explanation of the overall purpose of the program, and observation tools to assist with classroom visits. Administrators learn how to determine if a classroom teacher is delivering a curriculum with fidelity.
- Coaches’ Clinics help teachers serving as district mentors/coaches learn how to monitor teacher pacing and fidelity. These coaches are the first step in building local capacity.
- Training of Trainers (TOT) allows districts to train personnel to provide future teacher training. This is a critical piece in the sustainability of the implementation.
