SEARCH TIPS

To search for products, type your search term into the box and click the “Go” button for a list of relevant results. Search returns programs and products that contain every word in your query. It searches for an exact match to what you type into the box. To narrow your search, use more words; to broaden your search use fewer.

By default, search returns pages that include all the words you type in, so there is no need to include “and” between terms.

Sensitivities:

• Search is not case-sensitive, so “LANGUAGE” returns the same results as “language.”
• Search IS sensitive to punctuation, so “I’ve DIBEL’d, Now What?” will be correctly returned, but “I’ve DIBELd Now What” will not. When in doubt, search using fewer terms and less punctuation.

Searching Within Specific Fields:

You may select one of the following checkboxes to target your search:

Title: Enter all or part of the title you are looking for.
Author: Enter first or last name.
Keyword: Enter a descriptive phrase.
Product#: You may search by the ISBN number of an item or its product code (located on an order form or in our catalog).

• If using an ISBN number, enter the entire number without the dashes.
• If using a product code, enter only the number (the number is most likely preceded by a code such as 6SC or W).

Refining Your Search:

If your search returns too many results:

• Try using more words in your search.
• Try searching on a unique term within the title or search term you are using (for instance, search on “dibel” rather than “I’ve dibel’d now what.”

If your search returns too few results:

• Try using fewer words.
• Try searching on a unique term or the author’s name.
• If searching for a product number, author, or keyword, make sure you’ve selected the appropriate checkbox.
• Omit punctuation in your search.
